Connie Stout’s hands and heart are one; she creates simply because her heart beats.

Her work is an extension of her love and caring for others.

“It wasn’t until I was in my 40s that I acknowledged to myself that I was a creative person and had a deep need to create beauty and healing by using my hands and imagination to create things,” she said.  Stout is a native Texan who was creative in her youth. “As one of seven children in a family where there was never enough to go around, I learned at an early age to sew my own clothes and decorate the room I shared with my sisters with found objects. I learned crafts and a love of gardening from my grandmother,” she said.
